Assignment

Your assignment is in two parts:

1. Please read and critique the following papers:

• Plaisant et al. LifeLines: Visualizing personal histories
• Hill, W. and Hollan, J. History-enriched digital objects
• Chandler, D.: Personal Home Pages and the Construction of Identities on the Web

2. Develop a scenario for what home "pages" might be in the future. What information will they show? To whom will it be shown? How will it be displayed? Think about the visual vocabulary that (self) portrait will use. Will it look like a person? Act like one? Or do you envision a more abstract representation? Sketch your ideas for the portrait of a specific individual (real or imaginary, known to you personally or not).
