What? Social Network Fragments is interested in exploring the structure of an individual's social network, as conveyed through one’s email behaviors. The relationship between actors in one's network says a great deal about the individual, revealing how one segments their social circles to reflect different facets of personal life and social identity. In this project, we use visualization techniques to reveal the patterns embedded in the immense social data accumulated during one’s digital email interactions. This research provides users with a visual landscape for self-awareness, so that they may understand how they construct and manage their digital identity.

Social Network Fragments is a self-awareness prototype that was implemented with a great deal of theoretical consideration.
